Ben’s going-away party. Woodward nightmare cruise…

This past Tuesday was Ben’s going-away party at the Brown Jug in Ann Arbor. A lot of good people were there… as well as Dark Cube. Ben got silly drunk, followed by silly sick. I quote Rob: “That’s a lotta vomit…” Ben has recovered and we all wish him the best in NY. I for one will miss his company on a regular basis. Ben is an honestly good person… something that has become a bit of a rarity.

The Woodward Dream Cruise is this weekend. I’m very glad I don’t live near it any more. It was cool for a few years, but it has become increasingly corporate. The cops are jackasses, and the crowd is ignorant. There are still more minivans and SUVs making the circuit than hotrods… mostly since all of the tuned-up cars are prone to overheat in the stop-and-go traffic. I’ll be nowhere near Woodward Ave. this weekend… I’ll be upgrading the brakes on my WRX instead.

Wedding shower. Kacey discovers bees.

We had a family-type wedding shower this past weekend. I took Monday off to mow my lawn (since I would be gone all weekend), and to help set up for the shower on the east side. Kacey was outside with me all morning while I cut the lawn. When I returned in the evening, we saw that the right side of her face was all swollen! We made a call to the 24-hour vet… and then headed back out to the east side of town to get Kacey a shot. By the next morning Kacey was back to normal and we were off to the shower.

The wedding shower was very nice. Thanks to everyone that was there. As far as that whole pickle thing (don’t ask)… I’m sure it’s not the last we’ll hear about it.

Who wants a body massage?

Some of the funniest over-dubs I have ever seen can be found at Fensler Films. Just click on the G.I. Joe screencaps at the bottom of the page.

Totally unrelated to body massages: our eastside wedding shower is Saturday. Represent.

Archived System Update

I just found out about a very cool legacy meta tag… the “ICBM” meta tag. Basically, it’s your latitude and longitude as a carry-over from the arpanet military network strategy. It’s used by GeoURL to physically locate your site in relationship to others. What’s near this site?

Rogerbox recording soon. Race results and photos.

We’ll be recording a demo with Rob Shelby in the near future. I’ve treated myself to a pair of reference headphones in preparation. They’re excellent, but very affordable.

Race 5 of the 2003 WHRRI season was this past weekend we came in first in class in both races and the feature. Numbers are here. Everybody in the band was at the track this weekend, too. (Since 3/5 of the band participates at the track, it wasn’t hard to pull off.) Pictures were taken. And… yes, my WRX was used as the #2 pacecar. I was treated to a few hotlaps (as a passenger). Very cool.
