Rogerbox played out at Scalici’s last Saturday with Fork and The Reel. we were well received and have been invited back. Pete, the sound engineer at Scalici’s, recorded the set for us. Downloads from that recording will be abailable in the music section of rogerbox.net.

Since our location’s parking capacity is roughly 1/2 the buildings’ human capacity, we’ve been forced into a revolving off-site parking schedule. Approx. every 6 weeks, we spend 2 weeks taking shuttle busses back and forth from our building to a local dirt parking lot. the little lot was never intended for the amount (or weight) of traffic that it now sees daily. As a result the road and lot surfaces are roughly 4 times more cratered than the surface of the moon, or approx. 2 times more cratered than the average residential road in Redford.

Recently I’ve gotten back into Legos. Although Gina has decided that Mindstorms aren’t “real” Legos, I’m having a blast with them. I’ve built 6 robots using the RIS 2.0 as well as an offroader set. A coworker (Jona) started a Lego Robotics group in Ann Arbor. In fact, he’s the one resposible for getting me interested in Legos again. I’m hoping to get up to speed soon so I can participate in some of their events (Sumo, Stair Climbing, Problem Solving, Line Following, etc.). I never knew how relaxing playing with Legos could be. Playing video games usually brings out my competitive side, wrenching on cars costs a lot. Legos are reusable, inexpensive, and fun.

Although wrenching on cars can be expensive, I still love it. Last Christmas, Gina, Robyn, and Christian bought me a nice go-fast bit for my Camaro: an 80mm throttle body. I’m hoping it warms up again so I can install that, and perform a little well-deserved (an oft-postponed) maintenance on my cars.

Rogerbox has a new drummer, Andy. He has nearly mastered our entire set and we’ve already booked 4 shows. Updates, photos, and show dates are on our site.

In addition to the March 20th show at Scalici’s in Allen Park, we’ve booked an April 2nd show at Paychecks Lounge in Hamtramck. Other shows to follow will be at the Bullfrog in Redford and the I-Rock in Detroit. As always, the latest info, photos, and music can be had at Rogerbox.net.

We’ve just finished our second practice with our new drummer, Andy. Our previous drummer, Eric, had to move to Ohio for his job. We still keep in touch with Eric and are glad all is well. Andy is a fast learner. As a result, most of our set is ready for a performance. We’ve already booked Scalici’s in Allen Park for a show on March 20th. We might even have a new song in the set.
