I hack my GSM phone. So there.

According to Sony-Ericsson USA there is no way to upgrade a T68m GSM cellphone to a T68i. Why would one care? Personally, I like that the T68i has more personalization options (themes, screensavers, etc.). Additionally, the T68i appears to offer better reception as well as more mobile internet options. Even though Sony-Ericsson insists that there is no upgrade path, I beg to differ.

The upgrade is quite common in Europe. I found a great site offering the right data cable as well as all of the software needed to perform this upgrade. The firmware was easily found after a little Googling.

I now own a fully functioning T68i… for less than $25. The difference is quite stunning and I am happy. Props to George for showing me the difference between phones as well as making me jealous of his T68i. 😉

Brad is a hippie. My lawnmower bests his. The end.

Brad and I have had a long standing disagreement on a few environmental/common sense issues. The most often discussed topic is electric vs. petro lawn mowers.

His greatest argument is efficiency. However according to the same source, the efficiency is a toss up. (Hydro-electric Powerplant Efficiency, Combustion Engine Efficiency) I feel better just knowing that.

Next argument: emissions. No contest. Electric wins.

Power? Gas. I don’t have an entire day to spend cutting my lawn. They don’t even make an electric riding mower.

As I type, Brad is calling the electric company to check the efficiency of the power to his house.

I win by default.

Hectic week… drummer quit… Palm theme created…

This has been a hectic week. I’m looking forward to a little break this weekend, but it looks like we have a full schedule once again.

Scott (our new drummer) quit Rogerbox this past Tuesday. Contact me if you know of a good drummer (SMS form on the homepage).

I made a theme for Facer, a palm pilot launcher replacement. The theme (MacXTheme) is based on Mac OS X. Get it here.

Panic At Work. Snow.

Yesterday was a lot of fun. Everything seemed to blow up at once. Plus, a few choice marketeers decided to change a handful of swats that had already been completed and marked for testing. You gotta love incompetence. We got 6 to 10 inches of snow on Sunday. Nice foot-high drifts complicated things further. Although it’s fun to drive in, it’s no fun to clean up. I can’t wait for the weather to break. I’m jones-ing to work on my car. I’m ready for race season to start… and I’m ready to get married. I just want things to start moving again. The winter season slows everything to a crawl. It just leaves time to work, eat, and sleep.

Frozen pipes. Waterfall at work. Kacey is clumsy.

Wow! Pipes are freezing everywhere! Brad went out of town on Friday at 3 p.m. At 5 p.m. his neighbor left a note on his door to let him know that water was flowing from the side of his house. Brad got home Sunday, approx. 48 hours after the pipe blew. I arrived to work this morning to find the front entrance blocked off by hazard tape. Apparently the pipes for our fire suppression system froze and they met a similar fate to Brad’s plumbing. The entire lobby was flooded, water poured freely from the 3-story ceiling. Hopefully, we’ll have some pictures to post soon. Long story short: Kacey and I were playing in the yard on Thursday, she slipped and yelped. I thought she hurt her leg. Friday, she was still uncomfortable. I panicked and rushed her to the vet. The vet checked her out. Everything is fine. (She’s no longer favoring that leg, BTW.) Plus she got her shots out of the way for the season.
