Is just a little over 2 months, we’ll be married. Just one thing to clarify to all those bachelors out there. I found a really cool girl. We like a lot of the same things. We respect each other’s differences. I’m really looking forward to marrying Gina. To all of the “unhappy married guys” that tell me how everything changes… nya, nya, na, nya, nya.
This weekend is Race 5 at
Waterford Hills. It’s only 5 bucks to watch from the grandstands or on the hill, or 15 bucks to walk around the paddock and see everything up close. More info about admission and race schedules are on the
site.

As an early adopter of VXML, I enjoyed playing with the features offered through the
TellMe service. At one time, someone could call, enter my extension, and listen to the latest news, changes, or article. But, it looks like there’s no more love from them. Extensions have been disabled… this is where I bail on VXML… since nobody but them used it. Hey, TellMe, say “Hi” to the dinosaurs for me.

I spent a lot of time working around the house this weekend. The shrubs surrounding my yard no longer resemble Vietnam, the lights/wiring in my sitting room finally work, the automated lighting schedule is working again, and the motion sensor lights have been restored. I made a trip to Home Depot at lunch to pick up a few more supplies to finish up a few details. Next, I hope to add more lights to the interior of my garage as well as finish the insulation and drywall! Bob Vila is no match for my mad skillz.

Setting up wireless on a PC sucks. It took about 2 minutes to get my airport card on my Mac up and running. It took nearly 2 hours of guessing to get the 802.11a/b on my PC up. The settings are in 2 different places and both have to be exactly the same. After comparing notes with a co-worker, we’ve discovered that there’s no standard for wireless settings and configuration in Windows (XP). His wireless card has to be set up completely differently than mine. BTW, his took nearly as long… and he’s a MS-certified engineer and admin.

Last weekend was the SCCA Blue Water Regional at
Waterford Hills. There was some great racing. Our friends and rivals from the Mr. C’s team were back in town for the race and offered some great competition. Glenn finished second in class, 3rd in his group. Not bad considering we were plagued with electrical gremlins on the first day. I build a tool to track our numbers and changes.
Check it out if you like.
This Saturday, we’re planning on visiting our friends in Ohio. I’v never been to the Toledo Zoo, but I hope to see some monkey-poo flinging action. Hell yeah.
